The 860 KF Thermoprep is designed for thermal sample preparation in Karl Fischer titration.Numerous substances cannot be analysed by direct Karl Fischer titration as they are not soluble, react with the Karl Fischer reagent or release their water only very slowly or not until heated to high temperatures. Using tightly sealed sample vials, the sample is inserted in the oven. The samples can be subsequently analysed by any volumetric or coulometric KF titrator.

The 874 Oven Sample Processor is used for automatic thermal sample preparation in Karl Fischer titration. The oven method is particularly suitable for samples that do not release their water until higher temperatures have been reached, for sparingly soluble samples, or those that react with the KF reagent.

The 890 Titrando is a high-end titrator for volumetric Karl Fischer titrations. The instrument is equipped with a built-in buret drive, four MSB connectors, a galvanically separated measuring interface and a USB connector. The Touch Control operating unit with touch-sensitive screen for controlling the Titrando, the 803 Ti Stand and a 10 mL exchange unit are included in the scope of delivery.

MATi 4 is a fully automated system for coulometric KF titrations with high sample throughput. Up to 160 samples in 6 mL vials can be placed on the sample rack of the Sample Processor. The sample is pipetted into an external coulometric cell and then titrated there. The system is controlled with the OMNIS software.

The system is controlled with OMNIS software and consists of an 814 USB Sample Processor, a 901 Titrando and extensive accessories.The samples are weighed out into the beakers, sealed to protect against humidity and placed on the rack. Before the actual titration, they are dissolved in a defined volume of KF working medium, after which the water content is titrated.This method is particularly suitable for samples that dissolve readily in the KF working medium. In addition, solubility can be improved by using suitable solubility promoters.

Before the actual titration, a defined volume of KF reagent is added and the sample is pulverized with the help of a Polytron. The water that is released is titrated afterwards. Even samples of poor solubility, e.g., tablets, can be analyzed without difficulty with this method. The use of solubility promoters can be avoided in this way.
