Supporting a Future Scientist on the World Stage
At Metrohm USA, we believe scientific innovation starts with curiosity, and sometimes that curiosity begins in a high school laboratory. Earlier this year, Metrohm USA sponsored student researcher Ayush Vasireddy of Marquette High School in Chesterfield, Missouri, by providing a DropStat Plus electrochemical reader and Metrohm DropSens C110 screen-printed electrodes to support his project on the electrochemical detection of Bisphenol F (BPF).
Ayush conducted his research in collaboration with Dr. Keith Stine at the University of Missouri–St. Louis and was mentored throughout the project by Dr. Cathy Farrar of Marquette High School. Using a modified Metrohm DropSens electrode, Ayush developed a cost-effective sensor for BPF detection and earned an invitation to compete at the 2026 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona, the world's largest international pre-college STEM competition.
His research was recognized with several prestigious honors, including:
- 2nd place in Chemistry at the ISEF Grand Awards Ceremony
- An Arizona State University Scholarship
- The International Precious Metals Institute Award
- The YM American Academy Award
